Greenland Vote Favors Independence

The people of Greenland, the world biggest ivland, voted for greater automony and eventual independence. The new law will make Eskimo-Inuit tongue (or Greenlandic) the official language of Greenland. It will also allow Greenland to take control of the revenues from potential oil, gas and mineral finds within the region. However, it is unknown whether the region has these natural resources.

A voter in her 60s was rejoiced at the outcome of the vote, saying she had waited for this day for years and years.
